Hello all,

Earlier this year, Creative Commons commissioned Cetis to help manage the third phase of the Learning Resource Metadata Initiative alongside the Association of American Publishers (AAP) http://www.cetis.ac.uk/creative-commons-engage-cetis-to-co-lead-the-learning-resource-metadata-initiative/

One of the aims of the third phase of the LRMI project is for Creative Commons, Cetis and AAP to work together with the LRMI community, to develop a governance model for the specification and a plan for maintaining a community of support around LRMI for the long term.  The LRMI Technical Working Group, which was formed during phase one of the project to draft the specification, has not been formally active since the current version of the specification was completed. Creative Commons, Cetis and AAP have started exploring various governance options and models and have drafted the document attached below for consultation with the LRMI community.  There is also an online version of this document on GoogleDrive which you can comment on:

We appreciate the necessity of agreeing a pragmatic solution for the governance and maintenance of the specification so we would greatly appreciate your comments and feedback on the governance options discussed here.  If there are other governance models or approaches that would be worth considering please do let us know, either here on the list, or in comments on the document.

All the best
Lorna
