This is the Kickstarter project I referenced during yesterday's weekly meeting for anyone else that may be interested. It is a laser-based system with a turntable, and you 3D print many of the structural parts.

I have personally funded "BYOP - BRING YOUR OWN PI KIT: SHIPMENT #3" due in June 2015... The earlier date options have all been claimed. There are currently three days remaining on the kickstarter and it has already met its funding level.
