Might anyone be able to help or connect Hunter with the some welding resources?  I've suggested he contact FRCC and CSU's engineering. Please contact him if you can help.

Hi Jamie.
Here is a paragraph description of our event:

The Energy Carnivàle will bring together citizen groups, projects and organizations dedicated to sustainable or renewable energy to celebrate on February 21st. The Energy Carnivàle will be an 18 and over event at the Powerhouse Energy Campus with 10 interactive steam punk style games constructed with re-cycled, up-cycled and found materials. A special photo area includes a puppet theatre and other amazing photo backdrops that you will not find anywhere else. The Swash buckling Doctors will entertain with high energy SKA music and circus style performers will create a Carnivàle atmosphere. There will be a costume contest that will encourage attendees to bring their creativity and passion for sustainable energy and steam punk style to the event. There are awards and a Grand Prize from the Bike Coop. Amazing locally sourced food from Bear’s Backyard Grill will be available throughout the night and beer from Odell Brewing Company. Ticket cost and more information is available at www.cforse.org Parking at the Powerhouse Energy Campus is very limited. Ride your bike or hop on a shuttle. Biodiesel for Bands will provide limited service to and from the Oak St Plaza to the Carnivàle. Buy your tickets early and save your seat!

Most of the Games are well on their way to being constructed but we need to be able to weld some pieces together and the construction for the human-mouse wheel (a physical human powered game) is more complex than our awesome volunteers can build on their own. The concept is to use a dual bike stand to connect a bike frame with pedals and use the bike to then rotate a frame that will be a giant canvas that goes around the person on the bike (vertical rotation). The canvas will be painted with dots and the idea is to use human produced energy to make a rainbow by pedaling fast enough to make the dots turn into continuous colors. We have the bike and crank, the dual bike stand, a second bike crank, metal and pvc parts and the material for the canvas rainbow. What we need is help putting it all together and making sure that it is stable and of course works. This is a brief description but I hope it gives you an idea. Because we are looking for help welding I think it is more feasible to bring the materials to the Creator Space in Loveland.

Currently we have scheduled volunteer build opportunities from 10am-3pm on Friday, Sunday and Tuesdays from now until the event on February 21st. We can accommodate your schedule if that works better for you.

When is a good time to chat and I can clarify the game build more and answer any questions that you may have.

Thank you and Happy Thursday

hunter
