to London Scala Jobs
Hi All,

Graduate, Junior or Mid Level Scala Developers wanted at a Social Gaming Start-up located in South/Central London. (up to £40k Basic + Stock Options)

I am working with a new Social Gaming start-up (not gambling), they currently develop RPG based games and have plans to expand into other genres. They were founded by social gaming veterans that have spent time at some of the largest and most successful gaming houses in the world. They are currently looking to add a Scala developer to the team to work on a highly performant and scalable games platform written in Scala. They are ideally looking for people who are open minded, enjoy complex challenges and a fast paced environment. The team practice Agile (SCRUM), and Continuous Delivery through automation of build, tests, and deployments. They place an emphasis on code quality and are looking for like minded people to join the team. Everything is currently hosted on AWS, an interest or understanding in DevOps or Continuous Delivery would be beneficial as the current team contribute to all aspects of software Development.

There is an emphasis on finding a bright individual who has an interest in gaming and can pick up Scala and other new technologies on the job - previous Scala development experience (personal or commercial) would be handy, but it’s by no means essential. Development experience in Java would also be relevant. If you are interested in finding a job with a good working environment that will also allow you to code in Scala on some complex problems around games platform development - this could be a really good option.

Requirements
- Scala or Java development experience (personal or commercial)
- Interested in the gaming industry

It would be beneficial to have the following;
- Software Engineering or Computer Science Degree (or equivalent)
- AWS, DevOps, NoSQL
- Curiosity and ability to solve complex problems

The company is not necessarily looking for the finished article in a developer and will be happy to provide training and mentoring to new recruits.
