Scala Developer - Junior to Mid Level (45-55k)

Hi All,

I have a couple of new vacancies for Junior - Mid Level Scala Developers at a Central London based Adtech company. (£45-55k Basic)

They are looking for developers with demonstrable experience with Scala either through personal or commercial projects.

You would be working on the greenfield development of the companies core platform, services and business logic which are all written in Scala. The platform is heavily focused on performance, scalability and availability to cope with a rapidly expanding global customer base. The core platform is where most of the heavy lifting happens and experience with message based architectures (ActiveMQ/JMS) would be highly beneficial. The existing Scala team practice Agile (Scrum) and continuous delivery through automation of build, test and deployments. The team look to use the best tool for the job, often identifying benefits of new tech, running with it and failing quickly if necessary.

Requirements
- Minimum 2 years+ development experience in a commercial environment (Scala or Java)
- Strong knowledge of the Scala language (demonstrable Scala work)
- Knowledge of messaging (Active MQ/JMS or equivalent)
- experience with REST base protocols

It would be beneficial to have the following;
- Software Engineering or Computer Science Degree (or equivalent)
- Curiosity and ability to solve complex problems

The company is not necessarily looking for the finished article in a developer and will be happy to provide training and mentoring to new recruits.

Hi All,

Since time of posting, this Adtech company has managed to fill some of their requirements and is now focusing on finding Mid level to Senior level Scala developers with commercial Scala project experience. Salary has been tweaked - now up to £65k base + benefits.

The projects remains the same - You would be involved in a Senior capacity within the team, mentoring junior developers, improving processes, suggesting technologies and getting involved in code reviews. The work is focused around new development of the companies core platform, services and business logic which are all written in Scala.
