Scala Developer Needed - East London

We are helping out client to source candidates for their exciting Artificial Intelligence start-up. The company has just received 2nd round funding and are currently looking for a Scala Developer to join the team. Ideally they are looking for a full-time / permanent person, but will also consider a contractor. Salary / day rate is negotiable and the client is based in East London.   Our client is looking for an experienced Scala engineer to re-write the non-machine-learning part of the code base from Ruby to Scala. You would be working on the middle layer of the product that sits between third party customer support tools and proprietary back-end deep learning platform.   Responsibilities include:   • Designing and implementing scalable architecture for consuming 100k API calls per week. • Building web micro services for analytics, admin console, data management functionality. • Integrating with proprietary back-end deep learning application.   Required Experience:   • Scala • Hands-on experience with Play and Akka frameworks • Scalable back-end Web Services • Concurrency and Distribution • Designing + Implementing REST APIs • SQL DBs • Enterprise Software • Test-Driven Development • AWS Infrastructure • Security and Resilience • Agile Engineering Practices (Scrum) • Git   Additional:   • Strong interest in functional programming • Big Data • Machine Learning • NoSQL DBs • Erlang   For more info, please forward your CV to cwr...@dsp.ai Kind Regards,
