Hi All,
We have a number of Scala opportunities available at RecWorks at the moment but I wanted to provide some more details on one in particular..
I have a couple of new vacancies for Mid Level and possibly Senior Scala Developers at a Central London based Adtech company. This opportunity might suit a developer that is looking to find a company with some complex challenges to solve around core engineering in Scala. So if you're starting to consider your 2nd job in Scala this might be a great place to come and further your knowledge, or similarly if you're looking for more seniority.
You would be working on the greenfield development of the companies core platform, services and business logic which are all written in Scala. The platform is heavily focused on performance, scalability and availability to cope with a rapidly expanding global customer base. The core platform is where most of the heavy lifting happens and experience with message based architectures (ActiveMQ/JMS) would be highly beneficial but not essential. The existing Scala team practice Agile (Scrum) and continuous delivery through automation of build, test and deployments. Code quality is important to them, I won't claim they do everything to the book, but they do read the right literature and the right motivation is there to constantly improve when it comes to a stricter TDD approach. The team often run with new ideas of proof of concepts failing quickly if necessary.
The company offer some nice benefits, they have a good training scheme and recognise the need to be flexible around developer conferences and providing support around attending them. They are not necessarily looking for the finished article in a developer and will be happy to provide training and mentoring to new recruits.
