We’re looking for Scala Engineers to join our Scala team here at Time Out London. We provide the back-end API that drives all the Time Out websites and apps, serving vast amounts of content to millions of people every month.

 

What you'll be working on: 

 

As a Scala Engineer, you and your team will own our content API and our data integration pipelines. You will contribute to a high-quality code-base featuring excellent test coverage and advanced functional programming techniques. Our platform relies heavily on ScalaZ, Spray, and Slick, and integrations to data stores such as Redshift, Redis, Solr and MySQL. You’ll also be responsible for:

 

- High-quality Scala development - technically sound, clean maintainable code

- Frequent, in-depth code reviews

- Work with other team members and business users to analyse, design and develop new solutions and changes to existing outputs

- Contribute to the test suites underpinning our continuous delivery pipeline.

- Taking part in all aspects of the sprint life-cycle, from feature design and planning through implementation, launch and live operations support

- Coming up with great productivity and feature ideas
