Role Summary
We are looking for an experienced Scala Developer with Java expertise to help develop and enhance one of the country's most important services for the Home Office.
Transform have helped delivered a new web-based service for reporting lost and stolen passports. Following launch the new LSR service saw a 300% increase in reports, resulting in more passports being cancelled more quickly, which significantly reduced the risk to national security and opportunities for identity-based crime
Working in an agile environment we are now helping to build and add new features to the passport renewal web application.
The Team#
We love diversity: some of us worked at start-ups, some at big corporates. Some people in the team love Node.js and others even Go (golang). A mix of JVM-based languages and dynamic languages will be great assets, but as long as you’re keen to learn, don’t mind picking up new things and are interested in all aspects of building API’s you will enjoy working with us on this project.
We work mostly in Node.js, Java and Scala.
Specialist Skills & Requirements
· Understanding of common web application architectures
· Expierence working with Scala
· Experience in building Java and Node.js applications among others
· Demonstrate strong development skills, preferably language agnostic - the correct tool for the job should win
· Working within an agile and product-centric environment
· Experienced in TDD, BDD
