TLDR: Senior means:
- You have been doing Scala/functional programming for a few years, commercially.
- You've done a lot more than working with Play Framework and Akka, and when someone says automated typeclass instance derivation you get excited.
- You ideally have some open source or great code to entice us with.
- When you say you used Cats, you don't just mean Validated. You can trivially discuss differences between Applicatives, Functors, Traversables, Monads, etc.
- When others suggest monads are complicated, your immediate go to defensive answer is: a monad is a monoid in the category of endo-functors, what's the problem?
- You have the stomach to upgrade an existing codebase with legacy to something that makes your parents proud.
- You can mentor other people, and want to share your tips and tricks collection for greatness with the team.
- The names Phillip Waddler, Miles Sabin, Travis Brown, Alexandre Archambault, Eugene Burmako, etc. are entirely known to you.
About us(short version):
We are a really cool bunch working really hard to create the bestest digital assessment management software, and we get to build a trading platform from scratch, with all its wonders, market making, algorithmic trading, and so on.
Tech debt is a reality, and so are new features, you will need to show us all your skills and will power and they can really do for the world.
We make real money, growing extremely fast, and we have a strong emotional bond with the FCA, in fact we sent them thousands of messages daily through a bonding programme called Mifid.
