What I'd really like to get is a decent coffee grinder (burr mill of some kind) if someone has a suggestion where/how to get one that would be great.
Project page, together with design for a tamper is here.

I don't really have enough knowledge or even motivation for other things people might think we're missing like cold brew coffee, but if anyone else is then we could work together to fix more stuff.

I can also get a coffee/espresso machine, but I only have my discount for the next week and a half, before my last day, and I don't know what would be good to have and they can be a bit pricey for me to foot the whole bill for, depending on the model.
Considering the space is having issues with a bombproof Gaggia Classic, any other domestic machine is likely to suffer the same fate quicker.
A Sage smart grinder would work acceptably, but my concern is that they are a bit too plasticy to survive the hackspace, and for the same price a second hand commercial grinder would be cheaper and better.
Have you tried the coffee roasters (square mile coffee ?) on Emma Street ?
Not sure if this is a personal project or a group request, but if you want help I may be able to assist.
The solenoid valve thats vents into the drip tray doesn't seem to be as good as it should be, but didn't have my tools with me to investigate further (Ironic that the workshop downstairs doesn't have basic tools). It's on the list of thing to do.
The pump is getting abused because of filth in the water reservoir. One of the internal ball valves gets intermittently jammed, so I stripped and cleaned it again. This will need replacing if the problem continues.
I've placed a plastic tamper inside the donations box. It is 56mm, and we really need a 58mm, but it's a start.
Most of the grinders I have available are big, with a footprint larger than the coffee machine itself. I'm not sure the kitchen can handle such room being used by coffee gear? Open for debate...
The Gaggia Baby Class D is a more electronic version of the Classic, but the internals are basically the same. I would be interested to have a look at it and am confident with most repairs if you need assistance? I should be available a lot next week.
