Considering the structure of the first meeting which was a bit laboured but I saw the benefit of it (where all the items mentioned here were discussed and it was explained that this approach was absolutely necessary to do it collaboratively) and then to unilaterally and by stealth to change it with out consultation is inconsistent, talking about it at a meeting or asking on the list was all that was needed in my view is what I would have liked
Since some members are asking me what this is all
about I feel I should clarify.
3 days ago I've started a meetup group called "London Arduino" with a few friends who have robotics projects and want to create a community on Meetup.
This group will not be related to "Not Just Arduino" but I thought it would be a good idea to invite ONE TIME the few members of this new group to Monday's NJA meeting as they would share the same interest (I would be surprised if 2 people turn up, plus I have limited the attendance to 5).
My idea was to mention this Meetup group on Monday at the beginning of the meeting, reply to eventual questions, and maybe, just maybe, in future events it could be question of collaborations between those 2 group if decided by the members.
In my enthusiasm, I failed to ask the NJA list beforehand, this is was (obviously) a mistake and for this I apologise.
I'm sorry if this has painted the NJA group image in a bad way, the tone in which this conversation happened is not representative of our events, which are friendly and productive.
I hope we can all make an effort so we can continue hacking together in an excellent atmosphere.
I'm happy to discuss this further on Monday.
Many thanks
Marc
