IMMEDIATE START

Job Title:
Standby Assembly and Maintenance of Electronic System (Arduino + phone booth)
Level: Placement / Assistant

Project Description:
The project Rio Phone Hack consists on the installation of three modified phone booths from Rio de Janeiro in the Olympic Park in London.
Each phone contains an arduino board connected to different peripherals and an energy supply. Almost all the equipments are set inside the phone case, with some extra peripheral on the outside.
Work will happen in East London.

Job Description:

First Stage (Assembling and Installation):
- Assist on the the assembly of the phone, peripherals and arduino boards.
Dates:
11th and 12th May for introductions to the project and team;
From 26th may to 5th June (on a standby basis) for assembling and training on site;

Second Stage (Maintenance and Problem Solving):
- Visit the units once a week (4 weeks) to verify the systems, its components and batteries.
- Problem Solving (standby) on anything related to hardware*: identify errors, change components, fix connections (de/soldering) and report to team.
- Software (arduino) related problems: identify and report to team.
* Appropriate tools will be provided.

Dates: From 6th June to be discussed.

Skills needed:
- Knowledge of electronic (a must!): read electronic schemes and assembly circuits and components.
- Arduino experience (desired): Capacity to install and test new versions of Arduino scripts (sketches), using a computer.

Fee:
Based on working days: negotiable fee per day + travel expenses
Days: approximately 13 days / minimum 7 days
Time-shifts: approximately 8 hours (assembly and installation) / 4 hours (visits and fixing)
