Hi everyone;

Some bad news.  Unfortunately, someone has managed chop a great-big notch in the brand-new mitre fence for the table-saw within its first week of use.  Given that very very few people currently have access to the table saw while AC nodes are being installed, of the few people who could have done this, no one has yet come forward to own up to this damage.

Its hard to see how future pledges for nice bits of equipment are going to be realised if we can't even trust one another not to trash equipment whether through ignorance or wilful misuse.

A number of members have put a huge amount of effort to improve the facilities in the woodshop for everyone's benefit, and it sucks to see this thrown back in their faces.

Will.

As far as I knew, only 5 people knew the code to the padlock on the isolator switch. 2 of them are you and I Will.

Was anyone else told?

I've directly copied in the remaining 3 people here to see what they say...

When I came in on the 18h of May I discovered this and let Will and Felix know about it ...the padlock was undone and the machine had been adjusted - I had a rant to Matthew at the time as I was also "frustrated" at this

my conclusion at the time was - will be resolved when we have acnode

I have had to say no to some very persistent members who have sought me out for access in the last few week

Be useful to know who out of the 5 saw users has also used the mitre fence? Although i've used the saw i've never used the fence - perhaps it would help narrow it down further?

I too have the code and have used the saw, but haven't had to touch the mitre fence.   I have only used the saw twice - once after the brilliant talk Andy did on it about 2 weeks ago on a Wednesday night (thanks again, BTW), and again about a week ago.   Both times, the lock was put back on and secured/scrambled.
