Summer is a great time to learn something new, and Microsoft is hosting events in July for members of the UK Maker and Internet of Things developer community.  These events are designed to help innovators and established businesses understand how to connect things and data together in new ways, deliver new insights and value, access free cloud services, and gain support to accelerate programmes.

6th July – Internet of Things Focus group:  Microsoft is hosting a focus group on 6th July from 6-8pm in Reading or London to conduct research to learn more about IoT innovators and Makers to develop programmes and solutions that meet their needs. 10-20 participants from a range of backgrounds will be selected for an opportunity to connect with others in a discussion around Internet of Things, technologies, and needs for developing in this space. Dinner and drinks will be provided and participants will receive a 1 month Microsoft Azure pass valued at $100 for free cloud services. 22nd July - IoT & Data Hackathon: Learn how to connect your devices to build end-to-end IoT and data services. Get tips and tricks from Microsoft technical experts. Connect with others in the IoT and Data community.  This hackathon will help you to visualize and start building a solution to connect your things and data. Working in teams, you will creatively solve challenges for practical scenarios using Raspberry Pi, Microsoft Azure and PowerBI.
