Hi all

I'm forwarding an email I received from Ian Campbell, one of our "Not Just Arduino" participants who is organising events at UCL Enterprise Society.

For an event in March around engineering & hardware-focused entrepreneurship, he is looking for people who have some experience in commercialising their work in that field and
want to present and discuss their projects with UCL's students. I'm sure that description will fit a lot of members, plus the event will be linked to the brand new UCL Makespace.

Have a read at the email below for more details and contact Ian (i...@uclenterprise.org) if interested.

cheers,
Marc

Hi Marc,

We met in the middle of January when I attended Eugene's great PCB workshop at the Hackspace. At the time, I think I mentioned that I co-organise events for University College London's Enterprise Society.

The society is looking to host an event in the next 3 months - hopefully in late March - that combines engineering & hardware-focused entrepreneurship. We would like to use the event to inspire and inform students about entrepreneurial opportunities to build and develop physical products.

The work of a lot of the Hackspace members seems very relevant to our cause; helping post-graduate students discover entrepreneurial outlets for their research. Perhaps you know of any members that have some experience in commercialising their work, and that would like to present their product(s) at this event?

Ideally, we would have a founder or co-founder of a start-up attend and be willing to speak with budding entrepreneurs and engineers. We're also aiming to have a small number of the SME founders deliver a short talk to those in attendance, and that would be something that we would be very happy to speak with some founders about, if they are interested.

We're aiming to hold the event in conjunction with the newly-built UCL Makespace, which I know a lot of your members have heard of!http://www.instituteofmaking.org.uk/make-space

I look forward to hearing from you.

Kind Regards,

  - Ian Campbell.
