I was trying to help Adrian engrave some leather. While we were
testing the placement of the leather on the bed, instead of hitting
"Run Box", he hit the Start button, and it started running while the
lid was still open.

The safety settings need checked before anyone uses it.

It's allowed to move, but it shouldn't cut with the lid down.  Could you make sure there's an "Out of order" sign on it, please?

Just to check, its normal operation is to run and move, but not engage the laser. Can you confirm the laser was operating with the lid open?

i'm not sure.

we stopped it immediately and shut it down.

I was under the impression, that the safety lock stopped everything if
the lid was opened.

If it just stops the laser but leaves all else running, then it may be
ok.

But it needs someone who has more experience of the "care and feeding"
of laser-cutters to check it out.

The interlock only inhibits the laser itself, so no drama. Next time I'm in the space I'll double check it, but I don't see any reason to take it out of order.

I stopped by the space on the way home, it's all good.
