Hi, I just ordered a set of new mini and micro drill bits,

I broke two yesterday 2.5 and 2.3 and thought we missed other small ones in the set. We also miss most of the drills in the spectra from 3.4 to 4.6, which I did not order.

Expect them in a few days
If you need a small drill before that there doesn't seem to be a lot around, so you just might what to buy one in a store or express.

I think it would be a good idea to order a big set of every-0.5-mm HSS
drills. The sets with multiple bits of each size can be pretty cheap.

And then someone should definitely take most of the drill bits and
slowly release them into the wild as they are lost. That should make
them last longer as people are more careful about returning rare
resources [1].

every 0.5 mm unfortunately doesn't cover the metric tapping sizes. So
you either need to supplement it with a tapping set (not a bad idea,
keep the tapping drills with the taps) or get a 0.1mm set, which does
have the advantage that there's often a spare in a close size.

It does well enough. Maybe not exactly the optimal one, but I've never
had any issues at all using only 0.5 mm increments.

The set I bought is generally 0,1 and some 0,2 incremets. It looks like 24 various sizes over 0.4 to 3.2. But as written we also lack some of the bigger sizes than 3.4
