What is supposed to go into the subunits place anyway? I don't see a use
for it.

The short distance measure? Yards? Feet? Inches?
Furlongs? (the best candidate).

Is there any good reason for not swapping x3 and x4 (ie. standard x3, subunits
x4), in order to reflect the common structure of bunda, dekpu, gutci and kramu ?
