Hi all,

There’s a new discussion list for those interested in use and creation of controlled vocabularies in research, data, information and collection management.  Join AVSIG by subscribing to the list.

Come to the first online meeting, scheduled for September 7 at 11am (AEST).  The meeting will include a discussion of what a vocabulary is and isn’t, an introduction to SKOS and information about vocabulary services.

Bring your ideas to the meeting or post them to the discussion list.  Topics might include
  • vocabularies that don’t exist but are needed
  • vocabularies that are valuable and inaccessible (formats, systems, licensing)
  • approaches to making vocabularies available on the web
  • alignment, mapping, interoperability
  • tools and techniques, show and tell
  • ideas for community events (workshops, training, …)

AVSIG is supported by the Australian National Data Service (ANDS). More information about AVSIG.

bye
