Starchild, per your request, I put 20 sheets of LNC letterhead in an
envelope to go out in tomorrow's mail to you.

Ken Moellman or Robert Kraus (let us know if you start on this so you
don't both spend time on it):

Starchild has requested a list of all of the email groups the LNC has,
such as this one (lnc-business), aprc, statechairs, convention, etc. If
that's a reasonably easy task, please send that list. If it's an
involved process that would take more than 30 minutes to compile, then
perhaps we should discuss it more.

Thanks,

Thanks, Wes, and thanks for participating in the conference call this afternoon. Thanks also to our other caller, Greg Faust of the LP Radical Caucus, for taking the time to participate and ask questions. The three of us had a good chat about the LP's email lists, press releases, making the LP.org website more interactive, and more.

Regarding the email lists Wes, I'd also like to know how people can see who's subscribed. As I noted on the call, it would be nice when talking to LP members, for instance, to know if they are on the LNC reflector list, so if they already are, I don't need to tell them about it, and can assume a greater awareness of what the LNC does than if they are not subscribers. If people want to use an alias when subscribing to a list, for individual privacy, they should be able to do that in my opinion, but some folks would like their participation in the party to be open and visible for purposes of better communication, networking, etc., with other LP members, and those individuals should be able to do that too.

I think Robert Kraus told me there is a way to see this info, but I don't know how to do it and from what you said on the call it sounds like you were saying a special log-in is needed. With Yahoogroups, a service where anyone can start a list for free, it's easy and public to see how many people are subscribed to a list and other basic info about it (see e.g. https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/CALibs/info ).

Time zones mess me up- I had intended on being on the call and had the time wrong.

Starchild, my understanding is that you are asking me to make it
possible for anyone to see who is subscribed to any email group list run
by the national LP.

Regardless of whether it's easy or difficult to do, I don't feel
comfortable disclosing all of that myself. I think that's a decision the
LNC should make. If the LNC passes a motion asking staff or whomever is
administering our emails lists to make all the participants view-able,
or if the chair instructs me to, then I'll make sure staff complies with
that. I'm skeptical though that the LNC would decide to do that, and
that's why my default position is to not disclose all of the participants.

I don't monitor who's on those lists myself. I have not logged into our
email system perhaps for over a year. I've probably logged in less than
10 times in 6 years but haven't been counting.

Thanks for joining our call. I think Startchild gave a good synopsis of
the call below, which covered those familiar topics of ongoing concern.
