Greetings LP State Chairs,

It’s time to prepare your next Affiliate Update submissions for LP News.

 

If you wish to make a submission for the October issue, please send an email to LPN...@lp.org now so we can reserve space for it.

 

Final submissions are due Friday, September 2nd.

 

Copy

Please keep the length to 300 words or less so it’s punchy and interesting - and gets read. 

Write it in the third person, as a news article.

 

Do not write about events in the future tense that will be in the past when members receive this issue. We estimate it will hit mailboxes in mid-October. So anything that will occur before then should written in the past tense, or not mentioned, if you can't predict the outcome.

 

FEC law prohibits the national LP from fundraising for affiliates. Please omit any direct requests for funds from your copy. However you can promote your candidates, events, and general activities.

 

Requests for funding and any text that violates LP policy will be deleted. We may also make minor edits for clarity.

 

Photos:

Hi-resolution photos (minimum 300 DPI) related to your update are welcome. 

 

Note that pictures that appear clear as a bell on a computer screen are often inadequate for print. 

 

A good rule-of-thumb is to send pictures that are 

- at least 300k file size, preferably 1 meg - after being cropped.

- taken in good lighting 

- not over-exposed. 

 

Please provide a caption explaining who-what-where-when. 

 

Sponsorships

Attached is the current rate sheet and policies for sponsorship in LP News. 

 

Sponsors must send their requests ASAP to reserve space.

 

Both sponsorship payment and copy are due Friday, 9/2.

 

Please pass this on to candidates and anyone else in your state who may be interested in a sponsorship.

 

Please be sure to send all LP News-related correspondence and submissions to LPN...@lp.org (do not reply to this email). Otherwise it could be missed and omitted from LP News.
