Chipotle Fundraiser For The Class of 2018 - 01/13/2016

Make dinner a selfless act by joining us for a fundraiser to support Passaic Valley High School Class of 2018. Impaired Driving Enforcement Crackdown to be Conducted Locally as Part of Statewide Year End Campaign

The Little Falls Police Department will be cracking down on drivers impaired by alcohol or drugs as part of the annual end of year "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over" statewide campaign. Beginning December 11,2015 and continuing through January 1, 2016, local and state law enforcement officials will conduct saturation patrols and sobriety checkpoints looking for motorists who may be driving while intoxicated.

PSE&G Reminds Customers to Apply for Payment Assistance to Help with Winter Heating Bills

With chilly weather here, Public Service Electric and Gas Company (PSE&G), New Jersey’s largest utility, reminds customers that the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) is accepting applications for the 2015/2016 heating season. LIHEAP is a program run by the State of New Jersey Department of Community Affairs that helps low-income residents with their heating and medically-necessary cooling bills.

Volunteer sought to fill open position on Shade Tree Commission

The Shade Tree Commission has a vacancy, any resident who is interested in working with Shade Tree Commission as a volunteer please contact Phil Simone at 973-256-0309.

The Township is accepting donations for the purchase of shade trees and will also be accepting requests for the planting of trees in memory of residents who have passed away. If you would like more information on either of these programs, please contact Phil Simone at 973-256-0309.

A Celebration of Life in Little Falls

The Little Falls Public Library is embarking on a community oral history project to both preserve and document the history of Little Falls through the stories of the people who have experienced it.

We would like to invite long-time and more recent residents to share their neighborhood stories, documenting the past and present of Little Falls. Please help us collect memories and personal commentaries of historical significance through conversation.

These conversations will be recorded, preserved and cataloged at the Little Falls Public Library. The audio will be available and accessible online and as a circulating collection.

Recycling Reminder – Commingled (Glass, Aluminum, Metal, Plastic) Pickup is Wednesday, December 23

The Little Falls Department of Public Works is reminding residents that the 2015 schedule for curbside pickup of commingled materials (glass, plastic and tin cans) and aluminum is on the second and fourth Wednesdays of each month. These items will be picked up on Wednesday, December 23 and again on January 13.

Newspapers and cardboard are picked up on the first and third Wednesdays. Upcoming collections are Wednesday, January 6 and again on January 20.

Residents are reminded that there is no recycling pickup on Wednesday, December 30. Recycling is not collected on the fifth Wednesday of any month.

Recycling must be at the curbside by 6 am on the day of pick up. Containers cannot weigh more than 40 lbs.

Recycling cans are available at the DPW yard on Sindle Avenue. Recycling office hours are 9 am to 3:30 pm weekdays. For more information, please contact the Department of Public Works at (973) 256-6815.

January 2016 Passaic County Clerk Outreach Schedule

Kristin M. Corrado, Esq., Passaic County Clerk, is pleased to announce that the County Clerk’s Office will process Passport applications, issue Notary Oaths and Veteran Photo ID cards at the following times and locations in Little Falls:

Thursday, January 14th — Little Falls Municipal Building, 225 Main St., from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Please Help those in Need this Holiday Season

The Food Pantry at St. Agnes’ Needs Food Donations

The Food Pantry at St. Agnes’ located at 65 Union Ave. in Little Falls needs food donations. Our shelves are bare and food donations are needed of peanut butter, canned vegetables, canned beans, rice, soup, canned meats such as tuna, mayonnaise, cereal, etc. Also dog and cat food either wet or dry. Food may be dropped off at the church office during the hours of 8:30 AM-11:00 AM or placed in the 24/7 food drop off box located outside the church office. Please call the office at 973-256-5020 if other arrangements are needed. Thank you for feeding the hungry.

Help local children and families stay warm this winter!

The Passaic County Superintendent of Elections Office will be collecting coats, hats, socks, scarves, gloves, toys, toiletries, blankets and boots for needy families this winter. This is an ongoing collection. We are asking for donations of all sizes of new or gently used adult and children’s coats, hats, socks, scarves and gloves. Toys, toiletries, blankets and boots will also be gladly accepted and provided to needy families. Come by today and drop off your donation at the office of the Passaic County Superintendent of Elections, 501 River Street, Paterson, NJ 07524.

Winter Coat Drive

Many people are in need of winter coats for adults, youth, infants and pets. We are collecting winter coats and will distribute them during our Food Pantry days. Please bring coats to our 24/7 food drop off box, to the church office between8:30 AM-11:00 AM or the first and third Saturday of the month from 9:00 AM-Noon.
