While probing my cam (logitech C300) with this revision of zoneminder I
got a
Unable to probe local cameras, status is '255'
It worked with previous version.
zmu -d /dev/video0 -q -v -U ***** -P ****
returns
Error, failed to query crop /dev/video0: Invalid argument
It seems to be fixed by a patch of zm source

i had a similar problem when i was running a lenny system with zoneminder and a
few other packages from squeeze. after fully upgrading to squeeze, it started
exhibiting this problem.
perhaps there have been changes to video4linux or other software?

even though this was posted long after 1.24.2 was released, this patch appears
to have been part of the upstream sources already, as best i can tell (the
lines appear to have been added, and i can't find the lines that were removed.
a unified diff would have made this much easier). so i'm not sure what version
the reporter was using.
it must be something else triggering the issue.
live well,
