Hello everybody,
To day, I have just installed Debian 8 Jessie XFCE version at home. May be some of you are using it or have observed the popularity. Dabian is number two on the Distro watch list. It is climbing to the top.

Any way, I have been using Mint and have had pretty good experience. During the last months, Mint was a bit hanging for some seconds and up again for my use. Then I was looking for an alternative. I think Mint is a very good and user friendly Linux even though it is recode of re-recode meaning Dabian >Ububtu > Mint. I used Mint at workplace in a lab, but lately it complains the https in the intra network, I think it is because of Firefox. Many small things have made me to look for an alternative.

I think Debian 8 Jessie is not as friendly as Mint but should be more stable as it is well tested and comes almost every two year. Until then, only some updates. The only challenging (for now and my usage) in Debian is to install some third party applications as these applications are not included like Mint by default. Just managed to fix audio and flash problem. The audio problem was because I use HDMI output and KVM-switch from to mini computers to a one monitor. The flash problem was to download a package from Debian and install it.

By the way, Debian 8 Jessie is very clean, fast, has workspace etc out of the box.

I wrote this to exchange experience with you guys if you are using or have used Dabian or what you think?  //FT
