There's an issue for this – would you try some of the workarounds mentioned in the comments and add a comment as to which, if any, worked for you? I'll re-open the issue if none of the workarounds resolve your problem.
Are you using a non-US keyboard?

in user.keymap set [:editor "ctrl-d" :passthrough] made it work.
