Sorry if this has been answered but I can't find anything recent regarding php with Light Table - can you use PHP with Light Table at all?

Cheers

Well apart from syntax highlighting I'm not aware of any plugins in Light Table that provides any specific php support.

CMSCSS, what specifically would you want to do with PHP code in Light Table beyond just editing it?

Sorry, my understanding was that specific language support was required in order to use Light Table's unique features?

Some time ago I saw a video where code (a C language maybe?) was being edited and run all within Light Table - or maybe I'm thinking of a different app as it was probably well over a year ago.

Anyway, I saw a bunch of languages in the docs and because I didn't see PHP, assumed you couldn't use it.

Is any of this making sense or am I thinking of a different application?

Cheers

Ben

You talk about "InstaREPL" => Lighttable connect to a REPL able to evaluate code withing navigator.
Actually, LightTable dont have PHP integration but it's possible to add this with a plugin. Many plugins add language integration (groovy, haskell, ...) and Magnus write a good article on this subject. (For this time, i try to do Scala integration).

CMSCSS – basically everything is implemented as a plugin. There just isn't a PHP plugin, or at least not one listed in the official list.

I didn't know until I checked after reading this thread that there is in fact PHP REPLs, so it's certainly possible to implement that as a plugin. Ideally, any PHP plugin would leverage existing projects for actually doing all the interesting work needed to implement things like 'jump to definition' and 'evaluate the selected code'.

Here are Magnus's posts on implementing his Groovy plugin;
