I am working in a large company and behind a very strict firewall so code evaluation in Light Table is impossible. But I have started to get daily WOWs! and "What's that editor?" simply using LightTable as an editor and using the amazing search and replace features..... BIG WIN!!! :)

Maybe because people see it can replace Notepad and Agent Ransack (a search tool) with one easier to use tool !

Any other stories of where Light Table gets an amazing reaction from others?

Notepad!?! People use that?

Must be one badass firewall, it appears to keep reality out...

Haha, no offense taken. Actually we keep an audit of the programs used at our company and Notepad is by far the most used program (in both IT and Non IT departments). The people who wanted to use Light Table were all from IT however.

I think the Firewall thing is a European thing, as I hear more and more that large American companies do not block much public internet stuff, or things with different ports (correct me if I am wrong), but here in Europe they have a huge industry just making corporate firewalls!

Actually Notepad++ is used here too. I guess the thing with text editors is that once you are allowed to install your own (Locked down PC Admin rights are a huge thing in European large companies too)  then developers have a wide range, Sublime, emacs notepad++ to name just a few, so none of them really gets dominance on top of standard notepad

I think there's a Emacs shortcut for Lighttable too, cmd+shift+l+t?

Hans Peter - I was trying to figure out if I am missing something. How is your company Consideo related to Light Table?
