I will be giving a talk at the Generalist Engineer meetup on AI X-risk on May 17.

The goal is to explain these ideas to the top technical people on the Tel Aviv startup scene. (This meetup is pretty good at attracting such people.)

Around 2010-12, I gave lectures in Israel. I was introducing a weird idea at the fringe of ideaspace, with the goal of boosting social acceptability for the idea. Once social acceptability started to grow worldwide, I decided to discontinue that.

At this point, with more social proof and proof-by-authority, I think it's time  to build support for ideas which are now almost mainstream.

Questions:
1. Is there a LessWrong meeting on May 17? If so, we might want to  combine it with the Generalist Engineer,  or move it to another date.
2. I'll be glad to get comments on my talk (as I develop it).

1. By my count the next meetups should be on April 12, April 26, May 10, May 24, so no meetup on May 17.
2. Gladly
3. Btw, I think it makes sense to share this event to the facebook group.

This sounds great. I'd love to give comments; how are you planning to publish the talk-in-development?

I posted the same on facebook because I happened to see it first as I was catching up on my email. I'm ashamed of myself :-(
