This is a reminder that all members should claim a slot in the member storage but they should also label their slot on the frame above their slot.

The contents of your storage should not protrude from your slot. Please see an example of a protruding item in an unmarked slot. This item will be moved tomorrow at the open evening into the box of shame for oversized items which will be found just inside the member storage room.  Please retrieve it from there and store in line with the policy and label your slot.

This is important as its a tight enough squeeze in that room already without having to worry about being poked by random objects.

Thank you

Joe
Leeds Hackspace Director.

Additional. A few of you have been contacted directly about your member storage. Next week I will start highlighting more items in unmarked slots.

And check the boxes of shame. Some are full and one is due an empty :)

Like any new system things take some bedding in. Have had issues myself with my label falling off and finding myself having to move to a new slot. So it goes at times. Improvements will be made going forwards. :)

The with red thingy is mine, label has unfortunately disappeared, Maybe a bit of varnish on the edges would seal surface and allow for better sticker sticking.

Labels appeared to not stick to shelving, so I have a clear box with my nickname clearly on a piece of paper in the front of it.

Serious discussion; no trolling please.

Can people also NOT scrawl their name in permanent marker on the slot as at least one of you have done; that's entirely not fun.

With thanks,

I'd suggest re-reading the wiki page: https://wiki.leedshackspace.org.uk/wiki/Storage

it quite clearly states that:
  • Print a label using the label printer, stick it above your slot (or on your door)
  • When you are no longer a member you no longer have a right to store anything at the Hackspace.

Whilst you are welcome to decorate your door (as that's removable), taking a permanent marker to the storage space seems appallingly rude at best; it's graffiti and makes it harder to re-use the slot for anyone else in the future; I'm slightly disappointed that common sense wasn't enough on this one...

Fligg.
