Hi All

I have a couple of small projects i'm thinking about doing that require a 3d printer. im just wondering if somebody can give me some info on the 3d printer setup available at the hack space and how easy it is to get access to the printer?

Thanks

Ewan

Hi Ewan

We cuttently have two working 3d printers at the hackspace both a little old so not super detail possible but we can print in PLA or ABS. I will be tuning both of them on Saturday if you want to cone down and talk about them. The PLA printer is owned by the hackspace and you would need an induction that I can go through with you if you become a member. The other printer is on loan from a member and you would need to show good handling of the hackspace printer before you can use it.

If you are just wanting a couple of small pieces printing then you could ask me or another 3d printer user about printing them off for you but there are currently not many members who use the printer and I at least tend to be fairly busy.

What are you wanting to print. Can you come to saturday open day or one of the tuesday open evenings to discuss?

Joe

Thanks for the response Joe

I had a friend print these lightswitch covers for me on his own printer which i then sanded/smoothed and painted, i need a few more of these doing but have also seen a few interesting light things printed for philips hue bulbs so i was just wanting to have a play and see what can be done if that makes sense.
