Lase Cutter Induction Request

Hi guys,

I have finally manage to put together some SVG drawing files to test out on the laser cutter.

I will need an induction for this.
Could somebody who does the inductions please reply so I can arrange an induction session and test run at a time that is convenient for us both?

Do you know who else are trained to do the inductions? Presumably there are more than one member?
The 10th might be doable, but I will have to check if I can reschedule things for the day first though as I'm supposed to be going to stay with a friend next weekend.

Some of them have less availability than me at the moment. You best bet is either Nav or Joran. Their reading of these emails could be a little haphazard. Might be better trying them on IRC

Hi Henry. We did do that induction but you can always get one with me another time. If you get your membership set up for tomorrow - by setting up a standing order- then I will happily take time out during the Hack the space day to give you the induction.

There is no surefire way but the best approach is asking on IRC - see the wiki for more information. Occasionally asking on the mailing list works as well. But few people plan we hen they are going to be in, apart from the open days of course.

Sorry I feel this hasn't been addressed clearly, so to yourself or anyone else wondering, Leeds Hackspace isn't manned all of the time (as you found out in an unfortunate way) so you'll have to co-ordinate with someone that currently has keyholder access to get in (like Joe).

There's a status on the website (leedshackspace.org.uk) that may tell you if someone is in the Hackspace, but this doesn't guarantee they're going to stick around by the time you get there, every member has their own individual schedule of doing things and there's no-one employed by Leeds Hackspace to be there during working hours or 24/7.

As Angus has said, there was a phone number in the hackspace that could be dialled but this has stopped for whatever reason.

Your best bet is to arrange a time for an induction with Joe, really, Nav doesn't always check the mailing list.

Today (saturday 17th) we're working on improvements to the Hackspace, someone should be in from 12pm (at least that's the plan).

Hope that makes things a bit clearer and hope to see you around (at least on an open day/evening!)
