With the growing proliferation of digital applications and content,
institutions are challenged with finding a scalable approach to easily
find and integrate a vast array of digital resources into the
educational enterprise. Until now! The Community App Sharing
Architecture (CASA), from IMS Global Learning Consortium, is a an open
standard developed by the education community that enables the
publication and consumption of applications and other materials within a
network of trusted peers. To librarians, faculty, students, and others
directly involved in teaching and learning, CASA can be thought of as a
repository that facilitates the curation, discovery, and sharing of
digital content to enhance an institution’s learning ecosystem. Simply
put, CASA is a place where people can go to find content to fit
particular learning objectives.

Because content in CASA can be categorized and rated, librarians and
faculty can select particular applications of value to be included in an
institution’s CASA instance. These applications can be organized by
subject matter, for example, and can be made available to the
appropriate learners. Further, CASA instances can be connected so that
separate institutions can share content with each other.

In this panel webinar, we will discuss the value of CASA, how
librarians, faculty, and students can use CASA to improve the teaching
and learning experience, and what steps are necessary for setting up a
CASA instance. Join us in this conversation on the power and benefits of
CASA to your institution.
