Node01 timing out

We’re doing some checking here for the GoOpen node vs. the public nodes (node01, node02) and node01 is returning a 504 Gateway Time-out error.  Node02 seems to be fine.  Here’s the URL we’re trying on node01: http://node01.public.learningregistry.net/harvest/listrecords?from=2016-01-01T00:00:00Z&to=2016-03-01T00:00:00Z

 

Can somebody take a look at this please?  Thanks.

hey Jerome,

It’s partially me hitting the server hard, or at least that’s what I thought until I looked at the logs. Turns out that I’m not the only one. I’m trying to clear out the old “Steve Lewnau” records (in 2013 someone republished the NSDL XML records back to the node, with bad metadata). I’ve deleted about 20k in the last few days, but it’s going much slower than when I deleted the old NSDL records. I think we can take this as another reason the infrastructure needs some work… it shouldn’t take days to delete invalid old records. 

But looking at the logs, there are some automated processes out there hitting node01 every few seconds. It looks like a slice on profession...@doe.k12.ga.us and another on piweb...@dpi.wi.gov, both of which appear to be looking for a set of records published in a time range of about 2 seconds. Yep, not very productive. 

So I’ll reach out to those guys and see what’s going on, and will delay my delete until we get it sorted out. Thanks for your patience. … .joe
