Job Description
The UMKC School of Medicine Is seeking an experienced Database Programmer/Analyst. The Database Programmer/Analyst will provide information and data management functions in support of Under Graduate and Graduate education Programs at the School of Medicine. The School of Medicine databases developed, maintained and mined by the Database Programmer/Analyst will be used to support strategic planning, program and student assessment and for purposes of reporting on requirements of accreditations standards for all undergraduate and graduate programs (Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME), Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME), Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA), Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAA-HEP)). Databases developed will support benchmarking of programs and for future projection, e.g., undergraduate admissions, financial aid, undergraduate and graduate enrollments. This is a full-time position that will report to the Director for Medical Education Support Services.
 
Characteristic duties:
·         Review, design databases under the direct supervision of the Director of Medical Education and Research
·         Develop and maintain databases used for School of Medicine reporting, analysis and enrollment and revenue projections.
·         Optimize the availability and integrity of databases which support sharing of common data
·         Monitor and manage database backups, logs, journals, install, maintain database software, restore and recover data as needed.
·         Maintain the security and integrity of all School of Medicine databases which satisfies or exceeds all UM-System and/or University policies.
·         Work with the Information Services’ Data Warehouse team to ensure compliance with University policy and procedures.
 
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree and two years of database, data management and manipulation experience.
Excellent problem solving and analytical skills are mandatory.
Technical and analytical experience using the following tools: data extraction, end user reporting, and presentation skills are required.

Job Description
The UMKC School of Medicine Is seeking an experienced Web Developer. Duties include, but are not limited to, the production and maintenance of various School of Medicine websites. Contribute to the overall web, social media, and mobile technology marketing and communication strategy for the School. Build websites using technologies conforming to University standards. Perform maintenance and updates to the existing website as requested.
 
Successful candidates will have knowledge of current web-design trends and techniques, the ability to work with mobile technology design, and be a self-starter. Successful candidates will be team-focused, provide outstanding customer service, be able to manage short and long-term projects, and be able to communicate in both technical and business environments.
 
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum of 2 years of web design and/or development experience is required. Selected candidate will need to have a solid understanding of web site navigation and GUI for maximizing usability. Demonstrate proficiency with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript including an understanding of current accessibility standards and responsive design. Ability to use Adobe Creative Suite proficiently required and ASP preferred. Experience working with Word Press, and the customization of Word Press sites. Candidate will have practical exposure and/or experience working to develop application and signs for mobile computing with either or both Android and Apple operating systems. Candidate needs the ability to work with non-technical content providers to train and assist in updating web content for a variety of websites, desire to work in a professional, collaborative, innovative and flexible environment, and the ability to communicate clearly and effectively in both technical and business environments. Successful candidates will have a demonstrated proficiency in HTML, CSS and Javascript including an understanding of current accessibility standards and responsive design.
 
Preferred Qualifications
Preference is given to candidates who have demonstrated mobile application experience, experience working in a communications/public relations environment (particularly in a university setting), and have a BS/BA degree.
