Naming conventions?

I was wondering if anyone has any recommendations for (published) naming conventions for LiDAR project names, tiles, and derived products?  Thanks!

Please note the correct capitalization.

LASTools is probably referring to the last "ools" left in the forests... an endangered bird species related to the spotted owl know to scream "ool ool ools" at night and the LASToolsers are probably those tree-hugging hippies from Berkeley trying to save those owls. The kick-ass LiDAR software that you were probably trying to make a pun on is called "LAStools" like "tools for LAS" ... (-;
