Fail to utilize Wine to call LAStools

Hi folks,

I got error information when I use wine to call LAStools, in Linux. See below:

Does anyone have an idea how to fix it? Thanks for any help!

Hi Qing,

lasinfo is an open source utility, and you can compile your own native linux binary. This is recommended, since using wine to run the windows binaries on linux has its limitations (see for instance https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/lastools/dAae4gqUfHw).

lasinfo was being used as a demonstration to try to test WINE functionality with the goal of using all of the tools, including the non-open source tools.  We are having SERIOUS issues getting a 32-bit WINE working on 64-bit machines, so we have, at present, been unable to use LASTools in the way we intended.

Has anyone managed to write-up a working document for how to get WINE compiled FROM SCRATCH (we cannot use a package manager for a variety of reasons related to the system we are working on) to get it working with LASTools?
