Join us in this extraordinary event where Palestinian Permaculturist Murad Alkhufash shares his stories from the front lines of the occupied territories in the Palestinian West Bank where he and his team are sowing seeds of resistance, change, and self-empowerment through his small yet deeply impactful permaculture teaching center: Marda Permaculture Farm.
Murad's family has farmed this land for the past 10 generations, so he is a wisdom-carrier sharing precious local knowledge of farming techniques as well as permaculture principles and techniques.
In his presentation Murad will share the history of the Marda Permaculture Farm, their inspiring accomplishments achieved despite great barriers, and the larger context of occupation within which Marda Farm operates.
He will share the larger vision of the farm, the supportive global network to which it belongs, its mission, and dreams for the future--for Palestine and for the farm itself. This is the first time Murad has visited the U.S. since the farm was initiated in 2006, so it is a very special event.
The presentation will follow with a Q and A session and an opportunity to visit with Murad after the talk.

Speaker Bio: Murad Al Khufash, founder of the Marda Permaculture Farm has been featured on BBC, Al Jazeera, Haaretz and Huffington Post for his pivotal work to restore food sovereignty and resilience across the rural West Bank. His family has farmed in the Marda village area for over ten generations.
