Regarding:
A 5-minute
anonymous
survey of
farm/ranch
owners and
farm/ranch
seekers or
beginning
farmers or
want to be
beginning
farmers
Dear
Farm/Ranch
Owner or
Farm/Ranch
Seeker:
If
you are a farm
or ranch
owner, or are
seeking a farm
or ranch, read
on! KRC is
participating
in a study of
farm
transition
programs
across 12
Midwest
states. Part
of this study
is to learn
how farm/ranch
owners are
thinking about
future
opportunities
for their
land, and how
that compares
to people who
are looking
for a farm or
ranch
opportunity of
their own. The
research study
is
specifically
looking at how
programs
helping people
transition
their farms to
a new
generation of
farmer/rancher
owners can be
improved and
to help places
like Kansas,
where such
help is
limited,
develop a
program. This
survey targets
owners and
seekers for
their
particular
perspectives.
All
responses will
be
confidential
and anonymous.
After
collecting
responses, the
research team
will analyze
data and
report
patterns and
findings back
to you via KRC
communications
and at KRC's
fall
conference.
Anyone
on KRC's
general
mailing list
who farms or
ranches or is
seeking to
farm or ranch.
If you own a
farm or ranch
and are
thinking about
how you plan
to pass it on
or if you have
no plans, or
if you have
been looking
for a farm or
ranch
opportunity,
you should
fill out this
survey. The
survey's first
question is
whether or not
you are
currently
farmer/rancher
landowner or a
seeker. Then
it will guide
you through a
short series
of questions.
Click
into the
survey link
below.
Please
return the
survey as soon as
possible;
it will only
take a few
minutes.
What's
the benefit to
me?
Kansas
has never had
a formal land
link type of
program to
bring
farmers/ranchers/seekers
together. We
hope to better
understand
what kind of a
program would
be the most
help to
Kansans
seeking to
farm and
seeking to
transition
their existing
farms and
ranches to a
new generation
or beginning
farmers--
especially
those without
family ties to
land and
farming.
