Using knockout in an electron app (when html loads KO via the script tag)?

I have a web page which uses KO normally. I just tried to load it in electron (http://electron.atom.io) I'm getting an error "Cannot find module 'knockout.'

This is likely due to require(...) vs <script src=...> difference between node apps and web apps. I'm not enough of a javascript/web developer to know how to resolve this. Any ideas?
