LaTeX-like commands in Rmarkdown

As a side note, the bug in the title is generated by :

I don't have comments on the document. For the problem in the title,
it seems two backslashes will work (I think it is due to the YAML
syntax):

---
title: "$\\LaTeX$-like commands in Rmarkdown"
author: "Stéphane Laurent"
date: "19/05/2015"
output: html_document
---
