kivy and real time data

Hi I want to use kivy to develop an app for personal use on an android device. However before I set about learning kivy the app needs to read data from an arduino via blue tooth and plot it in real time. I've got it working lovely in python on windows using numpy and matplotlib. Would I be able to do this in Kivy?
