No touchscreen with kivy 1.9.1

There's an issue with certain touchscreens when using kivy 1.9.1.

This ticket was created on 3 Feb but there's not yet input from the Kivy devs :-(
Does anyone know more about this bug and/or possible fixes ?
I'm happy to assist in any kind of testing on the affected devices, or give someone teamviewer access to such a device if that would help.

We are about to deploy 100+ touchscreen based devices but we would rather like to ship them with the latest version.
