We need to make a jig to remove pulleys from stepper motors ... so a tiny gear puller is in order.  Dave Dalton designed one that uses 1.5" square steel tube.  We just need like a 6" piece.  Does anyone have some in a scrap bin they can bring by the space (or is close and I can come pick it up)?  It doesn't have to be fancy.  I don't want to buy a yard of the stuff if someone has some at home.

What kind of witchcraft is this.

Also a reasonably-priced premade tool that does exactly what I want is far from the right thing in this situation.  If it wasn't hand-made by carefully balancing a piece of dirty steel against a die grinder, it's not a RealTool (tm).

(I'll look at those after work)

FYI, a 1.75m hot end from MakerGear is $83.86 ($75 + $8.86 S&H). The
$50 list price is the add on price for the printer kit.

50 bucks is also about the cost you get when you're buying in bulk and just the parts you need.  You really only need to get a 1.75mm PEEK insulator and 1.75mm by 36mm brass barrel, since your 3mm kit already has a nozzle and heatcore.  You're looking at about $40 shipped (most of that is the groovemount), or way less if you can get them to sell you just the PTFE liner and you figure out how to swap them out.

I already shelled out for the entire kit. I will be able to play with
both. Or I can throw that 3mm head on my mega Mendel that is not done.

Mail them back and ask them to send you a 0.5mm or 1mm nozzle with your 1.75mm order.  We'll swap them around so the mega Mendel gets a 3mm/1mm hotend and the Prusa is  1.75mm/0.35mm.

Per your suggestion, they are sending me the largest one they have in
stock a 0.75mm nozzle.

Awesome.  You'll be able to lay down some massive prints really quickly with that.  I'd estimate you could get a .6mm layer height no problem.
