Error in context.html

I'm trying to set up karma on an existing project.  I'm stumped by this error message:

Chrome 49.0.2623 (Mac OS X 10.11.3) ERROR

  Uncaught SyntaxError: Unexpected token

  at http://localhost:9876/context.html:1

What does that mean?  node_modules/karma/static/context.html looks fine as far as I can tell.

There is a syntax error in either your tests or the code you're testing.
