We bought new lab computers with the Windows 10 operating system.  I would like to set up a master and then "clone" the others from that master.  I don't want to have to set up a server and built a lot of infrastructure when we only have 9 computers.

Does anyone have advice?

Hi Suzette,

We were in a similar situation this summer. There are a lot of software out there that will do this but we ended up using http://clonezilla.org/ in order to avoid installing or setting up any major infrastructure. We set up a "master" machine/image, made a bootable clonezilla flash drive to boot into clonezilla on the machines and used an additional external hard drive to act as a repository for the images to dump the image to and clone from. We were limited to cloning one machine at a time but it doesn't take too long especially if you're working with solid state drives on your computers.

I made a master that is almost ready to go. I am confused about sysprep.  Did you run sysprep before you captured your image?

If so, does running sysprep on a computer make that master computer generalized such that you would need to clone that computer as well to make it usable by students?

Hi Suzette,

I replied off list because I think we're heading away from the Google Apps/GSuite topic.

Thanks!
