I read a few comments here regarding integration of JCache in Java EE 8, but I wonder specifically if it's still planned for JCache to be an actually part of the Java EE platform as a constituent spec.
It's now nearly 2016, and as Java EE 8 is planned for 2017 I guess time is quickly running out.
One reason why I'm specifically interested in this is that for JSR 375 (the Java EE security JSR) I'd like to look at standardising a so-called authentication cache, and JCache would likely be ideal for that. But as a platform spec we can only really depend on other specs in Java EE.
