Hi All,

If you were planning on attending the BOF tomorrow it would be great if
you could let me know (in reply) so that we can get an idea of who we are
likely to get (especially from the EG and implementors). My top priority
for the session is to try and extract as much information from the JSR-107
API ‘consumers' (users, implementors, etc.) as we can while we have people
in a room (good feedback is hard to come by). From there we can get in to
the more detailed discussion as time permits. If we have a small crowd we
can just treat it like a round-table discussion, if we have more we’ll
probably have to have a more formalized Q&A, with hand raising etc. Just
going to have to play it by ear. If you’re able to stay after the session
for more discussion then that’s even better. A bunch of us Terracotta
guys will be hanging around and will likely break to secondary location
with whoever wants to continue the discussion. Be warned, EG members and
implementors that are known to me (or known to people who are known to me
etc…) are likely to be asked to introduce themselves.

Thanks,

Chris

I am there, too.

In preparation I did put together a few slides which I can run down in 5 minutes (without discussion!),

if there is interest, of course.

Topics:

- Semantic puzzles like putIfAbsent and getAndRemove

- Interface bloat

- Semantics, guarantees and contracts in general. Is store-by-value the only useful minimal guarantee?

- Simplifications for performance

Best,

Jens

Looks like some people were looking for where that session was held: Parc 55 - mission (room I guess!)

Yes, the room is called Mission. It's on the 4th floor.
