Want to use Jhtmlgrid for a table in my extension, but with slightly different features. At the moment I write the HTML code by myself, but I wonder if I could override or extend the jhtmlgrid for my use.

Write your own class e.g. MyHtmlGrid. And if you need something from JHtmlGrid just use JHtml::_('grid....')
