Broken backend

Hi Guys,

Suddenly my backend seems broken, can’t reach a lot of my components, I just get a page with these errors:

Notice: Only variables should be passed by reference in /public_html/administrator/modules/mod_menu/tmpl/default_enabled.php on line 23

Anybody a clue what’s going on here?

I'd say an update went wrong and your files are not up-to-date. Also, you enabled error reporting.

Sounds like you are now on php7 and you have hit this bug https://github.com/joomla/joomla-cms/pull/10452

Ok, applied the fix and all is working again, I can also confirm that apparently my host had upgraded to PHP 7.0.7
